The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested Onyekachi Ikowa, one of the fleeing suspects fingered in the murder of SP Bako Angbashimm the late Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada Division, Rivers State.

The new Commissioner of Police Rivers Command, Tunde Disu, had upon resumption of office directed the police in the state to arrest all the fleeing suspects.

Also, the new Commissioner of Police Bayelsa State Command, Francis Iduh, had directed his men to fish out all criminals hiding in the state.

Investigations revealed that police operatives working on a tip-off arrested Ikowa, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital where he had been hiding since the incident.

The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the arrest, said Ikowa had been identified as the second in command to the wanted TuBaba.      

“Police Operatives in Bayelsa State have nabbed one of the killers of late SP Bako Angbashim, former Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada Division, Rivers State.

“The suspect, one Onyekachi Ikowa, aged 43 years, is the second in command to TuBaba of the dreaded Icelander cult group. He was arrested on 18 November, 2023 based on credible intelligence that he was hibernating in Yenagoa after participating in the callous murder of late SP Bako Angbashim, in September 2023.”
