Commissioner of Police Lagos State, Olorundare Jimoh, has declared war against criminals: “There is no hiding place for them. We arrested 30 suspects for armed robbery, kidnapping Internet fraud, murder and defilement.”

Jimoh spoke at the Inspector General of Police (IGP) conference, Abuja: “It has been too hot for criminals to operate in Lagos. We are focussed on proactive initiatives designed to deny safe havens to criminal elements. The command has undertaken a comprehensive reassessment of its crime prevention strategies with community policing serving as the foundation element of approach. “Within two months, we burst criminals’ hideouts and arrested suspects. Some were charged to court. Some are still under investigation. I want to give kudos to my DPOs, area commanders and tactical team. They have done well.

“I have charged officers to uphold the highest standard of professionalism, discipline, dedication, integrity and transparency in the course of their duties. Officers have been warned to shun corruption, illegal duties and imbibe community policing. I want to appreciate other sister security agencies and the public for given us useful information to flush out criminals.

“We engage in community service, free medical outreach to mark National Police Day. It aimed at fostering better relation between the police and the public. The theme is; Say No to crime, such as cultism, drug abuse, armed robbery, kidnapping, cybercrime and sexual-based violence.  It is in line with the directive of IGP Olukayode Egbetokun.
