A non-governmental organization known as Kefiano Global Foundation has donated relief materials to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Bokkos LGA of Plateau State as part of it’s efforts in bringing succour to survivors of recent attacks.

The founder of the organization, Chief Kefas Ropshik during the presentation of the relief materials at COCIN Bokkos Central adopted 5 orphans who have lost both parents in the attacks as well as promised to take care of the widows who lost their husbands from the attacks.

He called on well meaning Nigerians to give special attention to the plight of children orphaned by the ongoing attacks in the state so as not to become nuisance in the society tomorrow.

Ropshik expressed anger over the unprovoked attacks on innocent communities adding that Plateau people must come together to defeat the common enemy of the State who are bent on holding the soul of the State due to it’s rich mineral potentials in the country.

“Today is not a happy day for me seeing you people in this condition since 24 December, 2023. It is not our wish that this happens and we visit to donate items. We are here to tell you that we are with you in this phase of life. Among those children who lost both parents I’m adopting 5 of them. I will shoulder the cost of their education, their welfare as well as all those widows will be under my care.” He promised

The philanthropist reiterated that Plateau people must began to unite towards overcoming the enemy of the state. “We must know that our enemies do not kill a particular party or not. Those killing us knows that we are not together, and I think is high time we come together.

“There is no how, a visitor will leave from somewhere without anybody leading them to our communities, there are people aiding this.” Ropshik stated.

He faulted he Federal government, the security agencies for not responding to the attacks in time to halt the situation that lasted for hours, and run into days of simultaneously operations by the attackers at will.

“The security has disappointed us, politicians has failed and disappointed Plateau people, celebrities who should have raise their voices to end this circle of killings in Plateau State but didn’t do that has failed and disappointed us.”

The team leader of Kefiano Global Foundation Mr. Eugene Gopuk said the foundation has been operating for 15 years so far carrying out various interventions to widows, orphans and capacity building of young people in the country.

He said the foundation has provided among many “125 bags of grains (beans, Rice, maize), 100 pieces of Mattresses, 100 pieces of mosquito nets, 100 blankets, 5 bags of salt, 10 Jaricans of groundnuts oil,” among others.

The IDPs Camp leader, Rev. Stephen Asugun disclose that over 15,000 IDPs are currently occupying 12 IDPs Camp operated in the wake of the attacks on Bokkos communities.

“We can not thank you enough for this gesture, we have lost hundreds of persons and have over 15,000 IDPs currently living in 12 Camps aside those living with their relatives.

“Some of the IDPs have moved back into their communities accompanied by securities to harvest their Irish potatoes which cattle are busy eating them on the farm.” He stated

The Acting President Bokkos Traditional Council and Saf Kulere , Saf Lawrence Amadam Aizat receiving the items on behalf of the affected communities and IDPs expressed gratitude for the gesture.
