From Lateef Dada, Osogbo
A former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Omooba Dotun Babayemi, has called on Nigerians to continue to promote unity and religious harmony in the country.
Babayemi said this in a statement on Sunday, commemorating the occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ as symbolized in the yuletide season.
According to him, Christmas is a commemoration that connects the world to be selfless, sacrifice, and solidarity; which are the virtues that Christ unambiguously propagated.
He noted that it was in the atmosphere of peace that the country could experience development, urging Nigerians to always see themselves as one regardless of their religion or political affiliation.
Babayemi stressed that Nigerians must continue to demonstrate the spirit of oneness and pray for the nation.
While noting that it had been prayers that had sustained Nigeria till today, he also admonished Nigerians, especially leaders to remain committed to the development of the country.
