The chairperson of SWAN Lagos, Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni, has stated that “The path to wellness starts with food.”
She stated this at a recent one-day programme organized by the Lagos Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) where stakeholders came together to explore a idea about how food security and sports diplomacy can be used as tools for national development and wellness. The event, which was held at the Rahman Bello Hall, University of Lagos, yesterday, attracted a range of participants, including media professionals, military representatives, academics, corporate bodies, and traditional leaders.
Oladunni’s advocacy didn’t end with food. She also launched her long-dreamt initiative, “Sports Diplomacy,” a vision she described as being born out of the need to see sports as a force for integration, economic development, and international collaboration. “Some people still think sports is just about playing football on a pitch,” she said, “But it’s way more than that.”
