From Lateef Dada, Osogbo
Members of Ifesowapo communities in Osogbo, Osun State, yesterday appealed to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun and Governor Ademola Adeleke, to rescue them from hoodlums who have invaded their communities and destroyed their property under the guise of securing a court order.
Speaking on behalf of the communities covering Camp area, Jaye, Powerline, Aderin areas in Osogbo, Sola Omidiran, explained that the hoodlums stormed the land and continued to maliciously destroy houses, where over 10,000 inhabitants owned properties and estate worthy billions of naira.
Noting that people have settled in the communities for more than 40 years, Omidiran said the recent incident was surprising.
“Sometime in April, 2025, one Mrs Mistura Busari leading some other people stormed the land and began to destroy and deface some of the structures on the land claiming to be armed with a court order/judgment in Suit No: Hos/M.206/2024 between Mistura Busari v. Hepzibah Holdings Ltd by Justice A. O. Oyebiyi to level execution on the land and other people’s properties.
“This development as claimed by Mistura Busari leading others prompted an investigation by some of us into the records of the Osun State High Court and it was revealed that the procurement of the order/judgment was shrouded in a kind of gross frauds at the instance of Mrs Mistura Busari.
“It was surprising that Busari ,who claimed to purportedly inherit yet-to-be executed judgments of 1982 and 1997 had information of how the land had been sold by her grandmother Sinatu Adeoye and Sidikatu long time but concealed the facts among others from the court. Busari also did a new survey plan to cover 184 hectares in 2024, such that was never contained in the said judgments and superimposed it on the alleged judgments to procure order/judgment from Justice A. O. Oyebiyi in February, 2025.
“Following these revelations, some of us, being law-abiding citizens, hurriedly instituted a suit to set aside the purported order/judgment and on June 3, 2025, the court sat on the matter and consolidated the suits with others.
“On June 3, 2025,an interim order to halt the execution was sought for and the Judge Hon. A. O. Oyebiyi expressly granted the interim staying further execution of the writ of possession pending the determination of all the applications already filed and later adjourned the matter to June 13, 2025, a certified true copy of the court order is available here for the press and public,” Omidiran said.
He explained that despite the stay of execution,“it was very shocking around 7am of July 4,2025,when those laying claim to the properties led other yet-to-be-identified hoodlums illegally and criminally re-stormed the land and continued to maliciously destroy houses, properties, estate worthy of billions of naira.
“Some law enforcement agents were said to have been sighted along with Mistura Busari and her thugs on that 4th July, 2025 on the land. The hoodlums led by Mistura Busari and Lekan Alabi were on that July 4, 2025, armed with varying degree of charms and weapons threatened all the people around and resumed destruction of properties on the land, people started to run helter-skelter for their dear lives,” Omidiran added.
Also, Muili Folorunso, the community Chief and member of Iyiolu Alare family, ancestral owners of the land lamented over the incessant harassment of individuals, who have been house owners on the last for over forty years, calling on the appropriate authorities to prevail on the concern individuals to allow due process and justice to prevail.
