Ahead of the local government poll scheduled to hold in Oyo State on Saturday April 27, 2024, the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has expressed the unwavering determination of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to participate in the election and emerge victorious, regardless of the use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).

He made the disclosure during a meeting with party leaders, state executive council members, as well as chairmanship and councillorship candidates, held at the state party Secretariat, Oke Ado, Ibadan yesterday.

Adelabu noted that with BVAS or not, APC would win local government elections in Oyo state.

He recognised that in this era of social media, it would be challenging to manipulate the election, emphasising the need for transparency and credibility.

Adelabu further urged party members to remain united and focused in order to achieve victory in the upcoming election.

He described the meeting as an opportunity to discuss the progress of the party, highlighting how it has once again become unified.

Adelabu expressed confidence in the party’s ability to secure victory, stating, “The party is back and we have what it takes to win any election in Oyo State today.”

Addressing the party members, Adelabu remarked, “We are stronger as a party when we are together,” while encouraging those who have not yet returned to the party to do so. He emphasized the importance of mobilizing everyone and ensuring maximum efforts are made to secure a win in the April election.

During the meeting, Adelabu also extended congratulations to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, who serves as the party’s zonal leader for South West, and pledged his support for the upcoming election in Oyo State.

The party leaders at the local government level were also urged to give their full support to the candidates in order to mobilise a successful campaign.
