Health is an important factor  of life.  The importance of good health  cannot be overemphasized  because  it is paramount  to everyone.

lnfact, that is why much  effort  and   detailed emphasis are usually  placed on  its overall maintenance. This writer was one of the numerous guest at a health meeting where after introduction, we were all engaged in physical  exercise which exposed many  failings among everyone as we sweater like golden fish. After all, the health message that informed and inspired this write-up .

Like a building that had been exposed to several  atmospheric elememts, the next step is to renovate the dilapidated building. No wonder people with health  issues always  go insearch  of medical practitioners to check, diagnose and provide correct medicatiom for the ailment. Interestingly, the same situation  can apply to a nation like Nigeria whose ailment had persisted since its creation and many think it could as a result of complications during its birth at independence.  When the child Nigeria was born, the parents overlooked some necessary details that would help in its growth as a complete human being or country. As the baby called Nigeria continue to develope with years just like a malnorished baby deficient of every necessary ingridience would eventually suffer from kwshiokwor, so is a mis-governed  country  deprived of basic infrastructures and devoid of  other  democratic developmental  gains.

Just as the sick baby is being attacked by anti body elements, so is the country Nigeria severally attacked economically, socially,  educationally and  insecurity  with corruption of its leaders  have further worsened the situation .

The parasites of insecurity  like Boko Haram,  Bandits, lPOB, Niger Delta militants, regional agitators have  further exacerbate the situation. While the government is acquiring sophisticated aircrafts for the military and Qirforce,  to fight  terrorists, so is the Police rejigging their strategies with a view to  once again  be on top of the internal insecurity  around the country as they embark on a three days  security retreat in Owerri, the capital of lmo state.

Truly, the country at the age of sixty four still has many ailments to cure. Some are self inflicted  while others are generational what in medical  terms is DNA.  Historians believe that our foreign masters may have  injected us  with some manipulative doctrine which makes us prefer everything foreign, educationally, socially,  medically  and lately we have coined a word for it for convenience sake.

It is “ Japaism”. Unfortunately, the National orientation commission is like a sleeping watchdog that has totally forgotten its national mandate. With the recent promise of  President Bola Tinubu after the supreme court ruling, promising to take governance more seriously since there is no more political distractions .

It is therefore assumed that all hands would be on desk to contribute their individual quota to ensure the good health of the country. It is an undisputable  known fact  that insecurity  brings to a halt governance  and social activities in any country.  Same with internal medicine ill-health in man.

It completely disrupts every  functions  of the human organs. It is therefore necessary  for the federal government to resolve unequivocally  on how to stop the spate of insecurity that is still going on in some parts of the country.

The government should stop the proliferation of illegal firearms around the country  and announce a week or more  as amnesty period for everyone in pocession of illegal firearms  to either surrender them to any security agency office without  any penalty  or a special telephone number be announced  on electronic and social media.

Such handover process should be televised  to send message of trust to those  still in doubt but are still in possession of illegal firearms.

As we step into Ember  months, both the government  at all levels should ensure that the yelutide season is devoid of any insecurity activities. One cannot start begging the issue that maybe the government may not be  buoyant enough to provide the necessary needs of the police which is constitutionally  mandated to  protect the lives and property of every Nigerian.

However, should the government  decline to provide  needed equipments for the police, then the recent purchase of  N160bn SUVs: Reps take delivery,  would be used as evidence. Analysing the security  implication  of these SUVs to the already shaky security around the country. In a country where over ten million able unemployed youths roam around the highways.
