Osun State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP ) has described the public enlightenment programme organized by the Osun State government tagged “Ipade Imole” which took place at Oba Aromolaran Civic Centre in Ilesa on Tuesday as a mere jamboree and a waste of Osun State resources.
The party observed that a supposed interactive programme with the citizens of the state turned to a PDP event, saying that the development beats the imagination of every right thinking person in the state.
The state chairman of the party, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi therefore challenged the state government to disclose the amount taken from state’s coffers for the programme.
Odeyemi noted that “it is disheartening that at this time of dwindling economy, the Governor Ademola Adeleke led state government could venture into a valueless programme of that magnitude.”
He said “The expectation was that the state Governor, Senator Adeleke will reel-out his achievements and give ample time for people to ask questions.
‘But we were disappointed that nothing of such happened. Instead, they allowed only those that have been tutored to ask petty questions at the gathering.
‘We wish to sound a note of warning to the Governor and his handlers to stop wasting our resources. If he wants a real feedback from people, he should go on live radio station programme where people will be able to ask him questions on the way he is paddling the affairs of Osun State,” he added.
