Following the death sentence passed on late singer Osinachi’s husband, Peter Nwachukwu, police spokesman in Delta State, SP Bright Edafe has advised against tolerating domestic violence in marriage.

Daily Sun reports that Justice Njideka Nwosu-Iheme of the FCT High Court sitting in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, on Monday found Osinachi’s husband guilty of culpable homicide in connection with the death of his wife on April 8, 2022.

On June 3, 2022, the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (OAGF) arraigned Nwachukwu on a 23-count charge, including culpable homicide, criminal intimidation, cruelty to children, spousal battery, and other related offences.

Reacting in an X post on Monday, Edafe said partners suffering domestic violence in marriage must take a cue from the incident and flee to avoid losing their lives.

“Gospel singer Osinachi’s husband Peter Nwachukwu sentenced to death by hanging.

“What I know is that before the court will arrive at this judgement, there must be enough evidence to prove that indeed the singer was suffering from Domestic violence.

“My message is this, get away before it’s too late, get away before you lose your life,” he stated.
