Fenerbahce President Ali Koc stated that their Istanbul rivals, Galatasaray, were fortunate to sign Victor Osimhen and that the striker is too big to play in Turkey.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli last September after failing to negotiate a permanent move away from the Serie A club.
The Nigerian international has 33 goals in all competitions for Galatasaray.
The Yellow and Reds are keen to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
Koc has however stirred controversy by claiming Osimhen is too big to play in the Turkish Super Lig.
“Osimhen is a special player and a player above Turkey,” Ali Koc told TRT Spor.
“That player (Osimhen) is in a different category. He also comes once in 40 years.
“There is talk about whether he will stay or not. Accounts, books, taxes, agreements… If it is done according to the rules, there will be no room for a spending limit!”
