Victor Osimhen has dropped a major bombshell about his future after helping Galatasaray to the Turkish Cup on Wednesday.
The Nigeria international striker powered in two goals for Gala in the 3-0 Cup final victory over Trabzonspor in Gaziantep.
Speaking post match, the Super Eagles’ forward couldn’t hold back his love for Gala fans who have supported him all through his stay at the club.
Despite the overflowing affection, Osimhen didn’t stop at leaving everyone guessing about where his future lies come end of the current campaign.
“I really can’t stand the fans. I have to make a big decision at the end of the season. I want to thank everyone for what I’ve experienced during this process. I’ll make my decision at the end of the season,” the 26 year old star said.
“I want to say a big congratulations to the whole team. We are very happy. We showed a great fight from start to finish. We also want to thank the fans. They were incredible from start to finish.”
Galatasaray’s goals were scored by Barış Alper Yılmaz in the 5th minute and Osimhen in the 46th and 63rd minutes to earn the yellow-red team their 19th Turkish Cup. Osimhen, who had his highest scoring season in his own right, also made history at Galatasaray.
The former African footballer of the year surpassed Mario Jardel, to become the new record holder for most goals scored by a foreign player in a season with the red-yellow team.
Jardel had scored 34 goals in 43 matches in the 2000-2001 Season.
Despite topping the goalscorers chart in the Super League, Osimhen’s hunger for more laurels still flames.
“We were fighting for 3 trophies but we were left out of one. We won a trophy. On Sunday we will fight for the 5th star.”
