Victor Osimhen’s proposed transfer to Al Hilal could be delayed, as the Saudi government, via the Sports Ministry’s Financial Viability Committee, is yet to approve funds for the deal.

The Nigerian has been linked to a €120 million move to Al Hilal as his loan spell with new Turkish Super Lig champion, Galatasaray expires in the summer.

On Thursday, we discussed that Osimhen is in advanced negotiations with Al Hilal FC regarding a permanent transfer this summer. He is in direct contact with the club’s president, Fahad bin Nafel, negotiating in person to reach an agreement.

Osimhen is reportedly awaiting an offer valued at $18 million net per year to move to Saudi Arabia; however, the potential value of his contract could rise to $20 million per season.

These figures represent the current terms of the ongoing discussions between the Al Hilal president and the Nigerian striker, who is on loan from Napoli to Galatasaray this season and has scored thirty-six goals and provided eight assists in forty matches with the Turkish club.

While personal agreements between Osimhen and Fahad bin Nafel are close to being finalized, Al Hilal cannot officially complete the transfer just yet.

The Saudi club is awaiting the full amount from the Saudi government to finalize the deal, which would then allow them to contact Napoli to confirm the agreement between the two clubs.

The Financial Viability Committee within the Ministry of Sports has yet to approve the release of the necessary funds. Until this happens, concluding the transfer will be impossible.

That said, all parties involved are optimistic that a transfer will be completed, as Victor Osimhen has made it clear to the president of Al Hilal that he wishes to join the club. Should the move go through, he could sign a three-season contract.
