The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom has congratulated the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Sen. Abba Moro on his emergence as Senate Minority Leader.

Chief Ortom, in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Terver Akase, described Senator Moro’s choice as well deserved, considering his track record of selfless service to the people over the years.

He said the commitment of Senator Moro to representing the people of Benue South Senatorial District has been exemplary, and there is no doubt that he will continue to serve with integrity, wisdom, and passion in his new position as the Minority Leader of the Senate.

“Senator Moro’s wealth of experience and deep understanding of the issues facing our nation make him eminently qualified for this important leadership role.

“As he takes on the new responsibility, I am confident that he will continue to be a strong advocate for the interests of the minority and other Nigerians, a unifying force within the Senate, and a champion for the principles of democracy and good governance.”

In the same vein, the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Benue State Chapter, is also celebrating the emergence of Senator Patrick Abba Moro as Minority Leader of the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The PDP, in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Bemgba Iortyom, said “Senator Moro’s emergence was made public yesterday by the leadership of the Senate and PDP rejoices over it for the elevation this represents to him and by extension the party in the scheme of national politics.

“As a ranking Senator and a former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, our great party is confident the new Senate Minority Leader has a rich store of experience and an extensive network of contacts to draw from to excel in his new position.”

The PDP it trusts that Senator Moro, renowned for his uncommon courage, clarity of thought and exceptional oratory, will add bite to the capacity of the opposition as its leader at the national level, to keep the government alive to its sworn duty to deliver good governance to the people.

“We pledge to stand in support of our new Minority Leader as he embarks upon the task of leading the Nigerian opposition, even as we pray that God Almighty keeps him blessed, protected and guided to succeed,” the party said.
