Orji Kalu: Do away with tribalism if you want Nigeria to move forward

By Seyi Babalola

The lawmaker representing Abia North Senatorial District, in the 10th National Assembly, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has urged Nigerians to do away with tribalism for Nigeria to move forward.

Kalu, who is also the Senate Committee Chairman on Privatisation and Commercialisation, noted that he cannot support tribalism because he wants Nigeria to move forward.

He added that any country in the 21st century that wants to move forward should not talk about corruption.

He was seen saying this in an interview he shared on his Facebook handle on Thursday, July 3, where he talked about the prominent issues plaguing the nation.

He partly said: “Secondly is tribalism, when you look at my face you see the face of Nigeria. I’m not tribalistic. I can never ever support tribalism.

“Yes, I was born an Igbere man, then became an Igbo man and Nigerian. But it’s not written on my face. My face shows a Nigerian who wants this country to progress.

“For a country in the 21st century that wants to move forward, do not talk about religion, do not talk about where you come from. People should be contented with what they have. My contentment is what leads me in life. I want every leader to think about contentment.”
