- Rallies support for Aiyedatiwa

A former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Tomide Akinribido, has formerly defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Akinribido, who was the Deputy Minority Leader in the ninth assembly, represented Ondo West constituency under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking at the formal declaration of his defection to the APC at the party’s secretariat in Ondo, Akinribido called on the people of the state to support Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
He called on the people of the state to support the administration of Governor Aiyedatiwa, just as he rallied support for his future political ambition.
In his remarks, Governor Aiyedatiwa who was represented by the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Olamide Oladiji described Akinribido as a home-bred politician with outstanding political experience antecedents.
He said the coming to APC of Akinribido was a welcome development and a blessing to the party not only in his Ondo West Local Government Area but the whole state.
Also speaking at the rally, the state chairman of the APC, Ade Adetimehin who was represented by the state Financial Secretary of the party, Chief Olu Akinbohun said the defection of Akinribido was a dream come true, alluding that the former lawmaker possesses a high level of intellect and capacity that the APC would benefit from.
He said the defection to APC of Hon Akinribido elicited jubilation within the APC fold because of his high political influence, especially in the grassroots.
Dignitaries present at the occasion include the Speaker of the state House of Assembly Rt Hon Olamide Oladiji, Deputy Speaker, Hon Abayomi Akinruntan, nember of the House of Representatives Hon Abiola Makinde, former Special Adviser to the Ondo state Governor, Dr Jibayo Adeyeye, Member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Abiola Oladapo, Financial Secretary of the APC in the state, Chief Olu Akinbohun, immediate past Culture and Tourism commissioner Hon Wale Akinlosotu, Chairman of Ondo State Signage & Advertising Agency Hon Akinwande Akinrodoye, among others.
