Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun joined former governors, political leaders, and family on Thursday, May 1, at a funeral to honour Pa Ayodele Oluwole Senbanjo, who died on April 5, 2025, at 92.

The funeral, coordinated by his son, OmoOba Segun Senbanjo—an APC chieftain and Regional Director of Seymour Energy Consulting—celebrated the patriarch’s legacy.

Held at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, Lagos, where Pa Senbanjo served for decades, the service was followed by a reception at Harbour Point, Victoria Island. Dignitaries included former governors Niyi Adebayo (Ekiti) and James Ibori (Delta), and Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, Chairman of Oodua Group.

OmoOba Segun Senbanjo thanked guests and described his father as a guiding figure. “Pa Senbanjo was the best father anyone could ask for. He ensured we had the best education and instilled in us essential values. He believed life isn’t about seeking perfection but embracing our imperfections and learning from them,” he said.
