Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has informed members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), that their resilience and determination were critical and highly needed in the nation building efforts.

He stated this on Tuesday, at the closing ceremony of 2023 Batch C Stream 1 Orientation Course for Corps members deployed to the state at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai, Rivers State.

Fubara, represented at the occasion by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Office, Office of the Secretary to State Government, Mr. Hamilton Amadi, urged the Corps members to be disciplined and patriotic always as elite youths.

Speaking further, he encouraged them to integrate well with the people of their host communities by learning their language and be respectful to their culture and tradition.

In his farewell address, the State Coordinator NYSC, Mr. George Mfongang, appealed to the Corps members to entrench peace, equity, social justice and love amongst all Nigerians wherever they are.

He advised them to live above board and be role models in their places of primary assignment in their host communities.

Mfongang concluded by thanking Governor Fubara and the people of Nonwa-Gbam Tai for their love and support to the Scheme.

He further thanked the state government for their commitment in ensuring the welfare and security of Corps members serving in the state at all times.
