A landmark moment for Nigeria’s marketing and brand communications industry was marked recently as Michael Felix Nyeche, a renowned expert in development communications, social, and public policy, announced significant enhancements to the Future Brand Idol competition. By introducing cash prizes and the Michael Felix Nyeche Award for Marketing Innovation, Nyeche has elevated the annual event to new heights, celebrating and rewarding exceptional marketing talent among Nigerian university students.

Now in its 7th year, the Future Brand Idol competition has become a prestigious platform for showcasing innovative marketing ideas and strategies. The newly introduced cash prizes and award aim to further empower students and educators, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within Nigeria’s education ecosystem.

Abah Boniface from the University of Ibadan emerged as the overall winner of the competition, securing a cash prize of N200,000. Evidence Olowu and Promise Olamilekan, also from the University of Ibadan and Kwara State Polytechnic, respectively, were awarded N150,000 and N50,000 for their second and third-place finishes.

In addition to the cash prizes, the winners received scholarship opportunities from O2 Academy Lagos and internship placements with leading PR and advertising firms, providing them with invaluable practical experience and career advancement.
