To achieve success in anything, experts have continually harped on perseverance and consistency, among other qualities to embrace. For South-South born reputable disc jockey Nya Effiong Edet better known as DJ Preppy, the story of covering some ground with a project he debuted years back cannot be complete without mentioning his firm grip on perseverance and consistency. Some years back, Edet, a man of many parts, kicked off an annual entertainment project tagged ‘DJ Preppy Playoff’ —a concert where the host, Edet, leads other notable disc jockey to take turns on the turntable to dispense tunes to fun lovers. But unexpectedly, some were not convinced of its likely success hence the reason it was not given a chance. However, Edet was resolute and dogged about his quest and as such didn’t give in to obstacles and discouragement as he continued to hold the event annually.
In his tradition, Edet held the 2023 edition of DJ Preppy Playoff —the sixth on the bounce— at Barracuda Beach, Lekki Ajah on Boxing Day, December 26, and it all ended in great success even as fresh innovations were introduced to make it grand.
Echoes of the event —produced and packaged by AKSTREETZ— are yet to be aborted even as its success is rubbing positively on the image of the brain behind it: Edet. The event also enjoyed support from organisations like Smartcash PSB by Airtel, AcardiaTv, and Nonsman. Also on hand to spice up the concert with their performances were DJ Prince, DJ Hassan, DJ Embassey and Spicy. Equally, winners of various games were rewarded with gifts as provided by the supporters.
