Group A, table toppers and reigning Champions of the NWFL, 2023/24 season, Edo Queens Football Club of Benin are expected to depart Benin on Monday for Lagos State for the Nigeria Women Football League NWFL week four game where they will take on Dannaz Ladies FC of Lagos State.
As the first stanza of NWFL 2024/25 premiership hots up, Edo Queens have played three matches, won two and drew one. This Wednesday’s clash in Lagos against the host Dannaz Ladies will be their second away game. Since the game of football is about scoring goals, the Ancient City based ladies are set to play the game of their lives to ensure they secure the three maximum points.
As the pride of women football in Nigeria, the Monday Okpebholo, girls are in high spirits for this encounter after being forced to a thrilling 1-1 draw at home by Remo Stars Ladies last week. The defending champions are ready to bounce back to winning ways.
The technical crew, the captain and all members of the Benin City based side are confident and optimistic of away victory in Lagos.
Despite playing infront of Lagos football crazy fans, Edo Queens have got a strong and fantastic team, they are looking forward to a positive result.
Edo Queens currently stand top on the log with 7 points from three games, one home win, one away win and one home draw.
Kickoff time for this all important game is 3pm and venue is the popular Onikan Stadium Lagos.
Meanwhile, Edo State Sports Commission Chairman Hon. Desmond Enabulele Amadin, has charged the Benin City girls to be of good ambassadors of the State, adding that the Government of His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo is solidly behind them .
