The remains of Miss Mercy Udochi Nnenna Nwannekanma will be buried tomorrow.
Miss Nwannekanma died on Monday, after a brief illness, 34 days to her 60th birthday.
According to the burial announcement by her family, funeral service will be held in her honour tomorrow by the Winners Chapel, at the late Nwannekanma Sampson Ekennaya’s compound, Akaelu Lodu Imenyi in Bende Local Area of Abia State, after which she will be laid to rest.
Ms Nwannekanma started her primary education at Lodu Community Primary School, and thereafter, proceeded to Item High School for her secondary education, all in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State. She later attended College of Education in Gidan Waya, Kafanchan, Kaduna State, for her Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE).
She worked at the Aeronautical Industrial and Project Management Company (AIEP), Kaduna Airport, for three years, and later worked at the Holy Child Nursing and Primary School in Kurmi/Mashi, Kaduna State, as a primary school teacher.
A devout Christian, the deceased, fondly called Nelly, is survived by a daughter, brothers and sisters, including Mr. Bertram Nwannekanma of The Guardian Newspaper.
