The leaders of Enugu North Senatorial District (Nsukka Zone) have unanimously endorsed Governor Peter Mbah for a second term, citing unprecedented infrastructural development and transformation in the region within his first two years in office.

 

 

Meeting at Adada House, Nsukka, on Thursday evening under the aegis of the Enugu State Coalition for Progress, Enugu North Branch, the leaders, including traditional rulers, academics, business leaders, political stakeholders, and other community representatives from all six LGAs in the zone, declared unwavering support for Mbah’s administration.

Following an interactive session and a communique signed by over 700 individuals, including prominent figures such as former Deputy Governor Chief Okechukwu Itanyi, Senator Chuka Utazi (APC), Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Ezeani Ezenta, Dr. Dan Shere, Prof. Simon Ortuanya, Gen. Godwin Ugwuoke (rtd), Dr. Mike Ajogwu SAN, Chief Maxwell Ukuta, Prof. Osita Ogbu, and Igwe Dr. H.N. Ukuta, the coalition said the governor’s impact in Nsukka was unmatched.

In their communiqué, the coalition stated: “The only candidate the zone would support in 2027 is Governor Mbah.”

They stressed that returning Mbah for another term would allow him to complete the landmark projects already transforming the zone into a hub for economic growth. The leaders also applauded the administration’s strides in peace, security, and investment attraction.

“In particular, we note with satisfaction, that the setting up of the Enugu State Command and Control Centre by His Excellency at the Government House for tracking criminal activities across the state has become a model for other states of the federation. We applaud His Excellency’s holistic development agenda for Enugu State anchored on his disruptive innovation philosophy as a catalyst for positive change.”

Highlighting the distribution of 102 Smart Green Schools and 102 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres across Nsukka’s 102 electoral wards, the coalition described the zone as the biggest beneficiary of Mbah’s governance.
