Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State, Emmanuel Igbalawole Sotiyo, has charged operatives to apply professionalism when carrying out their duties, vowing to make the state hot for criminals to operate: “We are resolute in combating crimes and criminality.

“The  corps has been saddled with responsibility to protect critical national assets and infrastructure, which cut across protection of pipeline, telecommunication equipment and electric power installations among others. This will adequately be executed without compromise.”

He encouraged officers and men of the corps to work in ensuring that citizens and critical infrastructure of the state were free of vandalism and other nefarious activities.

He made the pledge at the Palace of Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi. He pledged safety of life and property and a crime free environment: “I have directed operatives to move to all the flashpoints to checkmate vandals, who made several attempts to carry out illegal bunkering in the state.”

He pledged to launch “a more intensified onslaught against criminals and vandals defacing the state.  We are fully committed to upholding our duty these ‘ember’ months to curb vandalism and protect life and property. We will continue to collaborate with sister security agencies to enhance the state security architecture.”
