The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Nasarawa State Command has condemned the attack on the Head of News at Breeze FM Lafia, Mr. Edwin Philip, during the Gubernatorial and State Assembly elections.
Recall that Daily Sun had reported that the attack was carried out by some personnel of the Nasarawa State command who were on a routine patrol and monitoring of the election processes within the Lafia metropolis.
In a press release issued by the NSCDC Nasarawa State Commandant on Sunday, Abbas Bappa Muhammed, he described the attack as a shameful act that does not reflect the character and attributes of the Command’s personnel.

The State Commandant reiterated the need for officers and men of the command to exhibit high standards of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
He also apologized to the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Nasarawa State Council, and the general public, assuring that such an incidence will not repeat itself.
The injured journalist has been given immediate medical attention, and the Command has promised to settle all bills incurred to avoid any health complications.
The Command also promised the media community that it will leave no stone unturned in unraveling those behind this shameful act.
The NSCDC Nasarawa State Command is calling on all officers and men to respect the rights of citizens and uphold their oath of office at all times, especially during the election period.
