Presidential candidate of Nigerian Rescue Movement (NRM) at the February 25, 2023 general election, Felix Jonson Osakwe, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, describing their emergence as the will of God.
Osakwe, in the congratulatory message, said: “Ironically, the journey to this great moment in history was not an easy one. Nigerians in their numbers from all walks of life participated in one of the most competitive elections in our democratic progress to elect leaders across various levels.
“Interestingly, on February 25, 2023, the people spoke in one voice, electing you as their preferred leaders to lead us towards national progress and prosperity.
“As a candidate in the said process, it is my utmost believe that it is God who appoints a king and it pleased him to choose whoever he wants out of the 18 of us that contested with you. I and my vice presidential candidate, Mohammed Kyabo Fagge, have long accepted your victory as the collective choice of the Nigerian people and ultimately the will of God for us all.
“Mr. President, permit me to specially salute you on your inaugural speech which, indeed, proved to Nigerians that your choice to lead the nation is not bent on self adulation but a vision to reposition our nation on the paths of greatness. Your speech was, indeed, a reflection of our dreams, thoughts and the collective aspiration of every citizen”.
“Your focused areas of reforming the security doctrine and architecture, revamping the economy, job creation, agricultural revolution, unified exchange rate, reduction in interest rates, review of all anti-investment and multiple taxation policies, infrastructure reform, youth/women empowerment and putting an end to the age long subsidy regime are pointers that have re-ignited my confidence in your capacity to lead us.
“I remain optimistic that your tenure shall truly be a renewed hope for all Nigerians.
“I am hereby obliged to call on Nigerians in the spirit of love and national brotherhood, national solidarity, patriotism… to join hands with President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima so that, together, we can build a nation united in peace, progress and prosperity for all.
“Mr. President, I pray that God grant you the strength, wisdom and the political will to lead this nation to its God’s given destiny and greatness.” Osakwe called on other presidential candidates to congratulate the president, withdraw their court cases and join hands to lift Nigeria to greatness.
