Nollywood veteran Jide Kosoko has made a disturbing allegation regarding the lengths some ladies are willing to go to in Nollywood to become famous.
The popular actor who appeared as a guest on The Honest Bunch podcast downplayed the seriousness with which some folks take the issue of sex-for-roles, saying it’s a personal thing.
According to Kosoko, those who don’t want to sleep with filmmakers for film roles should stand their ground as they cannot be forced to cooperate.
On the flip side, he also claimed that he knows some women who come into the industry determined to sleep around to become famous.
“If I say I need you to come and warm my bed so that I can give you this role and you say no, you don’t want, go.
“Go, you don’t want. They cannot force you to do that… If anybody introduces anything to you, if you’re not interested, say no.
“But if you want that role by all means, that means you want to dance to his tune. I’m not saying it’s right to have introduced that to you. But if he says it, one or the other and you fall for it, that’s your own business.
“How does that concern the whole world?” Kosoko queried.
“All these sex-for-role thing, forget about it. I know some ladies that equally come into the industry with determination that, ‘By the time I sleep with this and sleep with that and sleep with that, I will get my name,” he added.
