The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) South East Chapter, has passed a vote of confidence in its acting National Chairman, Abba Kawu-Ali.

The party also lambasted one Kelechi Apugo and Igweamaka Orajiuba for parading themselves as the chairmen, Caretaker Committee of NNPP in Abia and Anambra States, respectively.

Its South East Zonal Secretary, Onwuekelu Izuchukwu Humble, in a statement yesterday, after the party’s stakeholders meeting in Enugu State, called on party members to disassociate themselves from Apugo and Igweamaka.

Humble said: “It has come to the notice of NNPP South East that some individuals led by one Mr. Kelechi Apugo are parading their selves as Caretaker Committee of NNPP Abia state.

“The NNPP south east, after her Stakeholders emergency meeting on Sunday 22nd October at PREDIA Hotel Ebeano Estate New Haven Enugu, wishes to announce to the public and disassociate herself from such unscrupulous group.

“It was revealed that the so called Mr. Kelechi Apugo, who crowned himself the state chairman also instituted his likes as his state executive Council.

“NNPP South East warns the public not to have any deal with this people in the name of the party.

“The stakeholders also in her meeting today, resolved that Mr. Igweamaka Orajiuba who claimed to be the State chairman of NNPP Anambra State was not constitutionally and duly elected.

“It was gathered that Mr. Felix Chukwurah who was expelled from the party by the National went with his cohorts to appoint Mr. Igweamaka Orajiuba as chairman.

“Zonal Stakeholders wish to advice all the party faithful members to deceased from dealing with this group in the name of NNPP and avoid attending any or meetings scheduled by such group as we gathered they fixed meeting on the 28th of October. Such meeting is illegal, unconstitutional and not in support by NNPP.

“The stakeholders, also in the same meeting, support the approval of Abba Kawu-Ali as the acting National chairman of NNPP. Revisiting the mission, the vision and the aims of the party, which centered on Peace, Equity and Progress, and the leadership style of the guru in question, the stakeholders affirms no doubt if Abba Kawu-Ali will deliver well.

“In view of the above submissions, the South East stakeholders wish to remind and advice all her party faithful members to maintain their allegiance with the party rules and regulations and avoid fractions as such are from gullible individuals who want to dent the good image of the party.”
