Nnewi Digital Community, in collaboration with Nnewi North Local Government, has concluded plans to take a significant leap into the digital future as it launches Nnewi Digital Week 2025.

Scheduled for May 1 to May 4, the four-day tech-centric event aims to merge innovation, industrial prowess, and digital transformation in a celebration of Nnewi’s growing influence on Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.

Convener of the event and Director of Corporate Communications for INNOSON Group, Cornel Osigwe, said the event would be a landmark moment for entrepreneurs, innovators, tech enthusiasts, and policymakers alike.

In a statement, Osigwe, said the event would feature factory tours, a high-profile symposium, health and tech-focused talks, product launches and a grand gala night.

“This is not just another tech event,” Osigwe remarked. “We’re bringing together visionaries, policymakers, and innovators to shape the future of our digital landscape. This is Nnewi’s time to lead, and we invite everyone to be part of this transformative journey.”

One of the major highlights of the week is the Digital Symposium & Awards, set to take place on May 2, at 9am, at The Nnewi Hotel. This high-powered session will gather some of the region’s most influential voices in innovation, media, governance, and industry.

Notable among the speakers is Mark Okoye, the Managing Director and CEO of the South East Development Commission, whose insights into regional development and digital policy are expected to inspire both leaders and youth. Joining him is Emeka Monye, a respected correspondent at Arise News, whose experience in reporting on digital policy and innovation will add depth to the discourse.

Other speakers include Prof. Joseph Ugboaja, OON, the Chief Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH); Chinwe Okoli, the Special Adviser to the Anambra State Governor on Innovation and Dr. Okafor Nonso Smart, MD/CEO of ReapFold Property.

Also confirmed to speak are Bill Achusim, the founder of Nnewi Tech Faculty and Chinelo Mbonu, a leading Community Manager with deep experience in startup culture and digital community building.

Representing the state government’s industrial push will be Christian Udechukwu, Anambra State’s Commissioner for Industries, alongside Nonso Smart, whose real estate technology initiatives are reshaping the built environment sector. Each of these individuals represents a facet of the broader digital conversation, ranging from tech innovation to health, media, governance, and infrastructure.

The symposium will also feature Jide Kene Achufusi, an actor and tech-influencer, Tosin Yakubu and other rising voices in Nigeria’s digital landscape. Panel discussions will explore cutting-edge topics such as emerging technologies, youth entrepreneurship, digital infrastructure in the South-East and how local innovation can solve uniquely Nigerian challenges.
