Founding member of All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus, Sam Nkire, has called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its co-litigant, the Labour Party (LP) to obey the final whistle and go and prepare for the next presidential election in 2027.

Nkire, who is also the pioneer leader of caucus in Abia State APC, in a statement in Abuja, also advised the candidates of both the PDP and LP, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, to imbibe the spirit of good sportsmanship and statesmanship by congratulating the winner of the election, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The APC stalwart reminded the two opponents of President Tinubu that the Supreme Court was not only supreme but the ‘be all and end all’ in matters of litigation, as well as the court of final adjudication which judgement is final.

Nkire said all that Nigerians expected from their respected former Atiku and Obi is the demonstration of dignity and respect for the rule of law, especially as it is public knowledge that both leaders had in the recent past had their political careers saved by the muscle of the rule of law.

The former national chairman of the Progressive People’s Alliance added that the two major odds that played against the former vice president and the former governor during the election were the seeming intractable crisis which still persists in the PDP and the lack of spread which plagued the newly formed LP. Nkire said he was, however, hoping Atiku and Obi would change their minds and heed President Tinubu’s clarion but brotherly call to join him in the arduous task of getting Nigeria out of its present economic woods.

According to the elder-statesman, “Atiku and Obi, very well know that Nigeria is still a work in progress and a delicate contraption which should not be disrupted by anyone’s personal ambition.”
