The General Superintendent of Christ Redemption Bible Church, Prophet John Oluwadare, has advised Nigerians not to use religion or ethnicity in choosing their next president but track record and competence.

Prophet Oluwadare said there is hope for a better future for Nigeria if, the electorate could choose their leaders based on the track record and competence of each candidate soliciting their vote ahead of the 2023 general election.

The cleric gave the advice at a press conference to intimate the general public about the activities lined up to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the church that will begin from October 16 to 23, at its headquarters in Ikosi, Ketu, Lagos State.

Among the activities lined up for the silver jubilee celebration of the church, with the theme: “The Greater Glory”, are empowerment, free medical service, career and investment seminars, praise and worship, rally, fundraising for its camp project in Ogun State and a special thanksgiving service.

On the 2023 general election and Nigeria’s challenges, Prophet Oluwadare who was flanked by his wife, Pastor Martha and other ministers of God in the church, said:”

This country is not a bad country, yet I want all of us to have hope that, by the grace of God, this country is still going to be a nation that all those countries people are running to for greener pastures will also flock back here.

“For the 2023 general election, let every Nigerian be rest assured that the election will come and go. There will be no war or crisis, I will advise Nigerians to vote according to their conscience and to look at the track records of all these candidates that are contesting. Let everybody look at what they have done in the past. As far as I’m concerned, those candidates that are contesting, are all wonderful people, but we still need to go in-depth and look at every record of theirs, scrutinise it to choose so, that we don’t make another error that we will not be able to get out of forever.

“In conclusion, whether it is a Muslim/Muslim or Christian/Christian ticket, my advice is that everybody should vote according to their conscience, not minding religion or ethnicity. Religion or ethnicity doesn’t guarantee good leadership”.

On the contribution of the church to society and its environs for 25 years, the cleric said the ministry, which began from his sitting room in Ketu, has been a source of blessings to the people in the area because of its spiritual and physical impact.

The pastor collaborated with other pastors In the contribution of the church to society, adding that many people in the Ketu area could testify to what God had done in their lives through the church.
