The Niger Delta Renaissance Movement, (NDRM) has congratulated the Group Chief Executive Officer, (GCEO) of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, (NNPCL), Engnr. Mele Gwori Kyari on his diamond jubilee. 

The group led by youth advocate and social crusader, Oghenekaro Edor who’s the national president and Alhaji Lutegbe as secretary, in a statement in Abuja, described the NNPCL boss as pride to the Nigerian State, saying the youths of the region owe Kyari gratitude for using his office to build peace and tranquility in the region.

According to the statement, Kyari has carried on the management of the NNPCL in a manner that foster peace among the youths of the Niger Delta.

The group stressed that but for the administrative acumen of Kyari the now functional refineries in Warri and Port Harcourt, domicile in Delta and Rivers respectively would have remained moribund, adding that at the moment residents of the region are upbeat and hopeful that Nigeria will now return as the giant of Africa.

He expressed surprise at the level of loyalty and solidarity demonstrated over the years by the technocrat even at 60, saying while his contemporaries are in retirement, the NNPCL boss is busy with the national assignment where he has shown his mettle as reliable and top-notch administrator and problem solver.

“We the people of Niger Delta region particularly the youths owe to the credit of Kyari the revitalisation of the nation’s refineries an avenue to create jobs for the region’s youth population. Kyari has shown capacity, excellent disposition to national assignment by bring the refineries to life again.

“As he clock 60, we are happy that Kyari is bequeathing functional refineries to us thereby buoying the regional and national economies. Stepping on the 6th rung of the ladder, we congratulate and celebrate the man who has taken it upon himself to succeed where many failed. We saw his efforts come to fruition when the light of hope was lit in Port Harcourt and Warri refineries. Therefore, it is plausible to pray for progress and fulfilment as he surges further into long and prosperous years ahead of him.

“As he celebrate his birthday, we join well-meaning Nigerians and the world to celebrate a man who has served his nation without relenting nor resting on his oars. Kyari is a blessing to our nation and we pray that Heavens celebrate him,”  Edor said.
