… Urges the Executive to ensure Judicious utilization of the Supplimentary budget

Niger State House of Assembly has has passed into law the supplementary budget of N230.3billion for 2023 appropriation bill.
The passage of the Supplimentary budget follows the consideration of a report of the House Standing Committee on Planning and Appropriation presented by the Committee Chairman, Hon. Zubairu Isma’ila, member representing Rafi Constituency.
The supplementary budget will be funded through expected inflow from the United Bank for Africa (UBA) facility of N187 billion, Federal Government infrastructural grant of N42billio and NCNI series of N1.3billion.
The breakdown of the Supplimentary budget shows that capital expenditure will gulp N211.26billion while the recurrent expenditure will take N19 billion.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Sarkin Daji said the budget include personnel cost, overhead and the capital expenditure adding that all the capital projects are viable and are in line with priority of the government.
The speaker had earlier announced that house conveyed emergency sitting of the house on Tuesday from recess which was recalled back from recess to enable it deliberate on the Supplimentary budget.
Rt. Hon. Sarkin Daji, commended the House Committee on Planning and Appropriation for their diligence, hard work and commitment to ensure the smooth passage of the 2023 supplementary Budget of the State.
He gave the assurance that the House will further intensify its oversight functions to ensure full implementation of the Supplementary Budget provision so as to consolidate on the gains recorded by the present administration in the State so far. ..
