The Niger State House of Assembly has lost the Chairman Assembly service Commission, Hon. Muhammed Saba Kutiriko who died after a brief illness at a private hospital in Minna, Niger state capital on Monday.
The death of the late Assembly Commission Chairman was announced by the Head of Media and Public Relations, Mallam Farouk Umar Isah in a statement in Minna on Monday.
Mallam Farouk in a three paragraph statement said the late Mohammed Kutiriko was a former Member of the State House of Assembly during the 5th Assembly, Representing Agaie state Constituency
According to Mallam Farouk, “The death occurred this afternoon Monday 12th January 2024, the Janaiza prayer (burial rite) is scheduled to take place by 5:00 pm at his residence chanchaga”.
He then pray that “the Almighty Allah (SWT) grant his soul eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss”
Meanwhile the Speaker of the state assembly Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Sarkindaji has described the death of the late Assembly service Commission Chairman as shocking and a great loss to the state house assembly and the state at large.
The speaker said the death of the Chairman came at a time when his service was very needed at the legislative arm of the government, stressing “his services will be greatly missed”
He regretted that the late Mohammed Kutiriko whom he said was gentleman and whose wealth of experience in legislative business would halped the 10 Assembly immensely, adding that “his death has created a vaccum in legislative business in the 10th Assembly”.
Sarkindaji pray that almighty Allah grant him eternal rest, and urged the family to bear the loss as death is a necessary end and it will come when it will come”
Recalled that the late Kutiriko was appointed as the Chairman Assembly Commission last year by the state governor, Rt. Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago.
