Minister of Women Affairs Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim urged Nigerian women to reject mediocrity and step out of their comfort zones at the WIODDI Inspiring Women WIWS 2025 summit in Abuja, themed “Bold Moves, Boundless Impacts”.
Represented by her aide, she emphasised, “Women should not settle for less.”
Sulaiman-Ibrahim clarified that women seek equal opportunities, not gender parity, in appointments and societal benefits. “The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, is redefining the space to ensure every woman has a voice,” she stated.
National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) President, Princess Edna Azura, aligned WODDI’s efforts with NCWS’s mandate to empower and educate women, predicting global impact. Oyo State First Lady, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde, pledged to mentor grassroots women and young men, spreading the summit’s message.
Uloma Rochas Nwosu, head of WODDI 2025’s organising committee, encouraged women to push beyond challenges.
“Irrespective of what life throws at us, let’s make those bold moves,” she said. WODDI founder, Mrs Nneoma Okorocha, added, “Bold Moves, Boundless Impact is a demand to break ceilings, defy expectations, and step fully into our power.”
