A delegation from the Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) paid a visit to the palace of HRM Igwe Kenneth Orizu today, as part of their preparations for the upcoming tournament in Nnewi.
The delegation, according to a statement made available to newsmen,was led by NBSL Coordinator, Mahmud Hadija, and included Chairman of Anambra Beach Soccer Association, Professor Victor Madubuko, Secretary Hon Emmanuel Nsoedo, and Media Director Awam Okwudili Emmanuel.
“The Crown Prince, Dr. Obi Orizu, warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his delight at having Nnewi showcased positively through beach soccer.
“We are thrilled to welcome the NBSL board to Nnewi, the land of gold. Your visit marks a new chapter for Nigeria Beach Soccer, and we are honored to offer our royal blessing. We are proud of our illustrious son, Professor Victor, and his efforts. You have our full support as the tournament kicks off on May 15th, 2024,” he said.
Mahmud Hadija, national Coordinator of the NBSL,expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and praised Nnewi for hosting teams from across Nigeria.
The Chairman of Anambra Beach Soccer Association presented a jersey and cap of the Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors to His Royal Highness.
The delegation also toured the Nnewi Museum and paid a courtesy visit to Chief Innocent Chukwuma, CEO of Innoson Nigeria Limited.
Chief Innocent however ,assured NBSL of his support for a successful tournament in Nnewi.”
