National Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI), has elected Solomon Vongfa Daniel as its new president.

Vongfa, who trashed other candidates, emerged as part of the 32nd Delegate’s Conference which was held in Abuja, recently.

Meanwhile, Emenike Onu, Lolia Emakpokre, Momoh Helen, Adeyemi Samuel, Hamidu Saidu and Abubakar Muhammed were elected vice presidents represent the the country’s 6 geopolitical zones.

Speaking after the oath-taking, he pledged to revolutionalise subsector, adding that the Association had not achieved it’s mandate despite its role in the economy of the country.

According to Vongfa, “The new executive would bring new revolution that will propel this association to the level that it ought to be.

“We would contribute in job creation, poverty reduction, and we encourage all our members to support us so we could achieve that target,” he said.

He identified the lack of funds as a major setback plaguing the body to enable it acquire modern equipment to boost production.

“If we have good products we could penetrate markets around the world, compete favourably and bring development to the subsector,” he said.

Also, its National Social secretary, Erisa Danladi, said noted that the country’s economy will continue to wobble without the contribution of women, thereby advising government to support them with funds.

Her words: “Women are the being of the country, not minding their levels. We are going to see how much we can have innovations and how agencies can support small markets around the communities.

“The game now is for us to restrategize and see how we can empower ourselves and build our capacities to be masters and owners of industries like the mme,we are not competing with the men but we are trying to contribute our quotas to the country,” she said.
