The National Assembly has reiterated its commitment to the welfare of the staff of the federal legislature.

The Deputy President of the Senate, Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, stated this, while presenting eight
new coaster buses to the Clerk of the National Assembly ( CNA), Magaji Tambuwal.

Jibrin said the provision of the buses was in line with the commitment of the 10th assembly under the leadership of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, to enhance the working condition of the staff.

The buses, which are intended to ease the transportation challenges of workers, are part of palliative measures by the management of National Assembly, to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal on the staff.

Recall that the CNA has also ensured the implementation of the new N35,000 wage award for staff of the National Assembly as part of measures, in the aftermath of the fuel subsidy.

On Monday, a youth group, Patriotic Youth Forum ( PYF), in a statement, hailed Tambuwal, for his commitment to staff welfare.. According to the group, within few months of the CNA’s assumption of office, N3.7 billion outstanding allowances to the staff was paid, while the National Assembly clinic was upgraded amongst other welfare packages.
