The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State has issued a strong appeal to its members and supporters, urging them to maintain calm and refrain from responding to any form of instigation or provocation as the awaited appeal court ruling on the gubernatorial election remains pending.
Following the tribunal’s declaration of Dr. David Emmanuel Ombugadu as the winner of the March 18 gubernatorial election, the PDP has chosen a stance of patience and prayerfulness, awaiting the democratic processes to unfold. The party commended its supporters for exhibiting a calm and composed disposition during the critical phases of election litigation.
In a press release signed by Alh. Ibrahim Hamza, State PRO PDP, Nasarawa state, emphasized the need for its members to focus on a successful process that would reaffirm Dr. David Emmanuel Ombugadu’s victory for the third time. The party’s legal team, confident in the merit of their case, trusts in the fairness and credibility of the legal system, expressing optimism that justice will prevail once more.
In light of this, the PDP called upon all its supporters to maintain peace, remain law-abiding, and uphold discipline as they anticipate the announcement of the appeal court judgment, slated for Thursday the 23rd, 2023.
Highlighting the party’s commitment to democracy and peaceful processes, the PDP cautioned against any form of violence or desperate acts, affirming that such behaviors do not align with the values of the Nasarawa State PDP family.
