The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, led by Alhaji Adamu Bako Ninga (Talban Mada), called for unity following a Court of Appeal ruling in Makurdi on Monday, May 5, 2025, affirming Ninga as the legitimate State Chairman.

Justice AB Georgewill ruled that Ninga’s executive was duly elected, declaring the Doma High Court lacked jurisdiction over party congress matters, citing a Supreme Court precedent on the PDP National Secretary position.

In a statement by Press Secretary Jonathan Ipaa, Ninga described the judgement as a chance for reconciliation, stating, “There’s no victor and no vanquish. This is a family affair… I will do everything within my powers to bring everyone onboard.”

He vowed to lead a united PDP, saying, “I’m not willing to preside over a divided party.”

Ninga announced a Central Reconciliatory Committee to engage aggrieved stakeholders, urging members to set aside differences: “Let’s put behind our disagreements and forge ahead.” He emphasized inclusion, stating, “We both won at the court today… All members are valuable assets as we strategise for our next outing.”

The ruling ends a leadership tussle, enabling Ninga’s team to focus on reclaiming Nasarawa in 2027. The PDP’s 13-member reconciliation committee, chaired by Sule Nasidi, supports these efforts, aiming to unify the party for electoral success
