Momentum continues to build behind the governorship aspirations of former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu (Rtd.), as influential groups and traditional leaders across Nasarawa State express unwavering support for his 2027 candidacy.

On Tuesday, a prominent socio-political group known as The IGP Boys held a strategic meeting with Dan Galadima of Lafia to publicly declare their full support for Adamu’s governorship ambition.

The group emphasized their belief in his leadership vision, lauding his exceptional track record as Nigeria’s top police officer.

Speaking during the meeting, the group’s Publicity Secretary, Asadullah Abdullahi, noted that Adamu’s proven experience in law enforcement, administrative efficiency, and national integrity uniquely position him to drive sustainable development in the state.

“With his impressive track record as a seasoned law enforcement officer, Adamu has garnered attention as a strong contender for leadership roles.

“His leadership, security expertise, and administrative acumen make him the ideal candidate to lead Nasarawa into a new era of progress and unity, ” Abdullahi stated.

The group reiterated their commitment to mobilizing grassroots support across the 13 local government areas, expressing confidence that Adamu’s emergence as Governor in 2027 (In Sha Allah) would usher in stability, effective governance, and a more unified Nasarawa State.

As part of his ongoing consultation and outreach, Ex-IGP Mohammed Adamu Abubakar (Walin Lafia), alongside his central working committee, recently paid a special courtesy visit to the Emir of Karu.

The visit, held at the royal palace, was aimed at seeking royal blessings and strengthening ties with traditional institutions.

Adamu also visited other key community leaders, including Sarkin Karu and Wakilin Kanuri in Karu Local Government Area.

These visits were marked by warm receptions, reflecting growing admiration for Adamu’s leadership style and inclusive vision for grassroots development.

Political observers note that Adamu’s consistent outreach to traditional rulers reflects a deep understanding of the cultural fabric of Nasarawa and a commitment to inclusive governance.

In a significant political boost, the Keffi Youth Group publicly declared their endorsement of IGP Mohammed Adamu (Rtd.) as their preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

The declaration event saw a large turnout and was further dignified by the presence of Hajiya Rukayya M. Adam, the wife of the former IGP, whose presence added emotional resonance and grassroots appeal to the occasion.

The group cited Adamu’s national reputation for integrity, his deep connection to the people, and his forward-looking vision as key reasons for their endorsement.

“This is not just a political endorsement. It is a declaration of hope and belief in a future where leadership is defined by competence, unity, and integrity,” one of the youth leaders remarked.

Furthermore, Adamu recently joined Muslim worshippers for Juma’at prayers at the Lafia Central Mosque, praying alongside His Royal Highness, Alhaji Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad, the Emir of Lafia.

His attendance, despite his towering profile, was seen as a demonstration of humility, faith, and a sincere connection to his roots.

Political analysts have described Adamu’s combination of administrative strength, security knowledge, spiritual grounding, and traditional respect as a rare and powerful blend that could redefine leadership in Nasarawa State.

With mounting endorsements, grassroots mobilization, and increasing visibility across traditional and political circles, Ex-IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu’s 2027 governorship campaign appears to be gaining significant traction.
