The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has raised concerns over the increasing number of baby factories and the sale of babies across the country. The agency has received reports of facilities trapping young girls, impregnating them, and selling the babies after birth.

NAPTIP Director-General, Prof. Fatima Waziri-Azi, has reiterated the agency’s commitment to combating this criminality and prosecuting those involved.

“These factories prey on the desperation and vulnerability of unsuspecting victims, luring them with false promises and support,” she stated.
