The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) have praised Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, for awarding scholarships and bursaries to over 3,000 students in Ogun State.

Representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Adeola’s initiative was lauded in a joint statement by NANS National Vice President on Inter-Campus and Gender Affairs, Akinbodunse Sileola Felicia, NANS Ogun State Chairman, Gabriel Francis, and NAOSS National President, Thomas Kehinde.

The statement, shared with journalists on Sunday in Abeokuta, highlighted that the ₦200,000 scholarships and ₦100,000 bursaries will ease financial burdens for recipients. The student leaders noted, “The scheme will help indigent students focus more on their studies, while their parents will heave a sigh of relief.”

Since his 2023 election, Adeola has facilitated numerous projects, including educational infrastructure like modern classrooms, ICT centres, and libraries in Ogun West’s public schools, transforming the Yewa-Awori zone. The leaders stated, “Senator Adeola, also the Senate Committee Chairman on Appropriations, has changed the narrative of governance in the senatorial district.”

Describing Adeola as a student-friendly politician, NANS and NAOSS urged him to continue prioritising student welfare and socioeconomic development.

They pledged ongoing support for his qualitative representation and encouraged other Ogun senators to emulate his student-focused schemes.
