From Olanrewaju Lawal, Birnin Kebbi
Kebbi state branch of National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), has dismissed fallacious claim by some sections of nurses that Kebbi Government is owing months of unpaid allowances.
State Chairman of the nurses body in Kebbi state,Comrade Kelani Abdulwaliyu who dismissed the claim as baseless, unfounded, noted that the allegation was unwarranted and mischievous intended to drag the good name of Kebbi government and the nurses association in the state into the mould.
According to him, setting the record straight, he said last year alone Governor Idris cleared backlog of allowances inherited by immediate past government of Bagudu” the claim of the nurses was hasty because while they were busy engaging the press on the matter the governor had approved the immediate payment of all claims, to us the publication was sponsored by enemies of the state and nursing profession”.
He, however, urged people of the state and nursing community to disregard the said publication and to be seen as a pigment of their imagination which has no iota of truth in it” we roundly dismissed it as a ploy to achieve cheap popularity which has no place in NANNM kebbi state.
Kelani stated that no Government in near history of Kebbi state that has given the attention to nurses like governor Idris.
