The new Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Mr. Jelani Aliyu, said he is committed to adding value to the automotive sector.
He said he would positively and dynamically engage all the committed stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
“There is a certain magic that is Africa and there is even a greater magic that is Nigeria. Any country with a population of over 180million is serious business.
“My objective with the NADDC is to contribute to the success of this Nation to reach out and touch as many lives as possible.
“These are critical and very exciting times for Nigeria and we have two options as a nation, we either chose to maintain the mundane status quo, inch along and be left behind as every other country speeds by taking millions around the world out of poverty or we can decide to strategize and boldly reach for the stars.
“Nigeria is so advanced that a majority of the problem we are facing would have been relegated to the pages of history which is my dream of the council.”
Aliyu promised to empower talented youths with the necessary professional training in contemporary automobile design and development, leveraging the most sophisticated technology, “so they will innovate, design and develop automotive and transportation solutions that are in tone with Nigeria culture, climate, geography and economic structure.”
