As the season 13 of Kidsport Charity Cup gathers stem, a million naira and other goodies has been set aside to put smile in the faces of participants.
The much-anticipated tourney is billed to kicks off on December, 2, 2023 at the Campos Sports Centre, Lagos Island.
This was disclosed by the founder and co-ordinator of Kidsport Charity Cup, Mrs Bukola Alabi alongside Managing Director, Kingmakers, Gossy Ukanwoke, who derived pleasure announcing his outfit support for the one-day competition. while addressing the journalists at the weekend in Lagos.
Addressing the press during the weekend, Alabi in her welcome address, said the event would not only witness football, saying sports such as Ludo, Basketball E-sports, Sac-race, scrabble and other side attractions would be included.
She explained further that six orphanage football teams, four football academies and four secondary schools would participated in the competition sponsored by Kingmakers.
“We are looking forward to this year’s edition and I am happy that this competition has attracted sponsorship from various corporate bodies. I want to thank our sponsors and partners for their supports towards this year’s edition and I believe that this year would live up to expectations.”
“This competition has unified the kids amongs orphanage homes and other participants since we started it years ago and it gives me joy to organise such competition to make the kids discover their talents and bring them to the limelight. A million naira and other goodies has been tabled to make the kids happy. I will also wants to give kudos to other sponsors such as Indomie, La Casera, 7up and host of others” she said.
In a similar vein, Ukanwoke said his Kingmakers is happy to associate itself with the kids and urged the participants to play the game according to the rules and regulations.
Meanwhile six orphanages are expected to feature in the football event. The participating orphanages are Street 2 School, SOS Isolo, SOS Owu, Project Friendship Initiative, Habitation of Hope, and Citadel of Grace.
