Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has clarified that her recent trip to her hometown was not a political campaign.

Akpoti-Uduaghan defied the curfew imposed by the Kogi government and held her homecoming rally on Tuesday, celebrating the Sallah festivities with her constituents.

Addressing claims that she paid some attendees who were present at the rally, the suspended senator called them baseless and misleading.

“This was a celebration of unity and shared love, not politics.

“The people who welcomed me did so of their own free will, and I deeply appreciate their sacrifice,” she stated.

Speaking further, Akpoti-Uduaghan said that residents from the five local government areas that make up Kogi Central, representing less than 3 percent of her overall supporters, were those at the event.
