Kozy G, the singer who has performed with Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Iyanya, Terry G, and other big names in the industry, believes that music saved his life when things were rough.

“I have been into a lot of things, but music has been exceptionally satisfying for me,” he told Saturday Sun, adding that not even football could give him more satisfaction.

“I even thought I’d become a footballer, I was good and at some point, I decided it wasn’t for me so I moved on.

“Music has been it; something that runs through my family because my younger sister, Floxy is a singer and another one is a wonderful dancer. The good thing is that our parents supported us, while they were still here with us,” he said.

Recalling how the death of his parents in 2015 dealt a heavy blow on him, Kozy G, born Moses Izuchukwu, said he almost gave up on everything.

“My mom died earlier in 2015 and 12 days after burying her, my father died. It was a sad moment for me. I wanted to just give up but when I remembered how much my parents wanted to see their church choir boy become a superstar, I kept pushing and that has been the best decision of my life,” he said.

Kozy G, who was a member of the group ‘Da Fame’, went solo after their split, marking his entrance into the industry with the single ‘Shiver’.

In 2023, he got signed with Negron World, a U.S.-based record label.
