Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has rejected the appointments made into seven ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) of the government of the state by his predecessor, Simon Lalong.
The governor accepted five and asked that appointments made into 42 others be reviewed to reflect the diversity in the state.
The twilight of his administration, Lalong, who is now the minister of labour and employment and also senator-elect for Plateau South, had carried out massive recruitments into MDAs.
However, in his assumption of office Mutfwang sacked all those appointed and set up a committee to renew the exercise.
In a report presented to the government by Commissioner for Information and Communication, Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, the state government rejected the appointment made into seven MDAs while accepting that of five others.
The committee also adopted to review the appointments made into 42 MDAs.
The statement directed that in reviewing or carrying out fresh employment exercise, competence, capacity, capability and state character principle must reflect even spread across the 17 councils that make up Plateau State, and consideration shall be given to ad hoc or casual staff in those MDAs or institutions.
