Chief Executive Officer, Elegant Flix Magazine, worldwide and queen of red carpet, HRM Florence Okonkwo has always  in whatever endeavour  showed her proficiency and dedication in whatever she does.

Just as the world evolves technologically and culturally showcasing  the significance of cinema as a medium of expression, entertainment, and cultural preservation has become increasingly pronounced.

No doubt, the film industry holds immense promise as a vehicle for socio-economic development, cultural exchange, and more.

To this end, Okonkwo expresses her thoughts in this venture. She said: ” I see filmmaking as a collaborative work, working with different people and talents on set teaches one how to work with others no matter the background or race”.

“My job as a producer is to hire key players who will help actualize the spirit of the script and it is also my responsibility to create the right environment for production to go on smoothly.”

She stated this at the celebration of Africa Day in Ksidbrooke  Community Hub in London held on the 25, May, 2024.

The event featured  live music performances, dance workshop, cultural demonstration, fashion show and display of Africa delicious food as well as Africa pop-up market.

Okonkwo in her speech at the occasion to encourage young talent, noted  that “as a producer, I am always present at every stage of the production, from developing stage to production stage, from post production stage to distribution and marketing. Most times I produce and act also, just to keep in touch”.

Okonkwo who is also a philantroprist  went back memory lane on works she has done.  Says she:  “I have produced several films and the last one, ‘Shot in the Dark’  is unique for several reasons and one of them is the fact that I was the Executive Producer and producer, the supporting lead, and the person in charge of the location and welfare at the same time.

“It is draining to carry all these caps at the same time but at times, the phrase that says  a man’s best servant is himself makes more sense when one is confronted with such situations as long as he or she can do it well”.

She challenged everyone particularly the younger ones to live up to the challenge by seeing these challenges as a stepping stone to greater heights.
